If there is one thing I have seriously enjoyed so far this week, it’s developing a plugin for WordPress.

Actually getting the chance to do proper bespoke, one off coding (That no other plugin can do yet, strangely) was a liberating experience. That and wordpress supplying the absolute best tools for the job, as in the software itself, as well as the functions to make the lives of developers easier (functionality I can only dream of coding myself at the moment, well, within a reasonable timescale anyhow).

Now it’s done I feel a sense of pride and achievement that a good chunk of code that i’ve written is going into a high profile website, even though I don’t believe I can write the name here, as it would bring undue attention, nevermind, you’ll just have to figure it out for yourselves.

I was also surprised on how easy it was to create a search function, well, as they say, you learn something new everyday, and today I learned a great many things.

It’s using a nifty piece of software called WordPress as well as few plugins thrown in for good measure (I may even code some of my own for this eventually!).

It’s been long overdue for a re-design but here it is, and even advertising my wares as a freelance web developer too, can’t be bad.
